Hi, I'm Philip Burns, founder of CoreShift Solutions.

​

My career began on the tools as an apprentice blacksmith, progressing through heavy engineering, offshore welding and fabrication before moving into health, safety and operational risk management.

​

Over the past 35 years, I've worked internationally across offshore energy, marine operations, engineering, construction and major industrial projects, supporting organisations in some of the world's most demanding working environments.

​

My experience covers operational and management system audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, contractor assurance and the development of practical HSE management systems.

​

Having worked both on the tools and in senior leadership positions, I understand the challenges faced by those carrying out the work as well as those responsible for managing it.

Today, through CoreShift Solutions, I help businesses identify where their risks lie, put effective controls in place and develop straightforward systems that people understand and can use.

​

My approach is simple: practical safety support, built around how work is actually done.
